In order to make the most of natural light and, at the same time, allow all employees constant contact with the landscape, the office has virtually no internal partitions. Only glass panels, fitted with motorized blinds, can isolate the rooms when privacy is needed.

The brief

A 400 m² penthouse in the elegant Vila Olímpia neighborhood has been the headquarters of Unique Vintage’ design studio in São Paulo since 2005. In a constant process of redesign, its project has always sought to remain true to the architect’s style, reflecting her main motivations over the years. Completed this year, its current configuration is no exception.

Scope of Work

From the beginning, I chose to make my office a reflection of my personal and work style. Hence, of course, the more minimalist approach, just like in my home. Within this approach, each piece has its reason for being. There are no excesses. Nothing is gratuitous,” says Fernanda, who closely followed each stage of setting up the space.

Thus, the layout follows simple yet precise rules: on one side, the management offices; on the other, the areas reserved for the various work teams. Between them are the meeting rooms. Located just outside the elevator lobby, a reception desk in naturally textured grigio marble organizes the flow and welcomes visitors.

The overall atmosphere is understated without being stuffy. Elegant without seeming old-fashioned. Shou Sugi Ban wood, used as the base material, appears in various places: cladding the entrance hall, composing doors, countertops, and cabinets. In a continuous solution, the furniture features clean designs and finishes in muted tones, from gray to black.
