All of this ended up imposing a new dynamic, a new breadth to the property, allowing the various spaces to interact with each other
The brief
An essential apartment. Minimalist in its design, yet rich in details and textures. Spaces of exquisite simplicity, where functionality – and timelessness – emerge as top priorities. In short, these are the guiding principles of this interior design project, created by architect Unique Vintage, to meet the busy daily needs of a São Paulo family, consisting of a mother and her four teenage children.
Given that it is an old property of 480 m², integrating and unifying the spaces, enhancing the double-height ceiling, and thus taking full advantage of natural lighting were some of the first measures listed by the professional, even during the renovation phase. “In addition, we sought to reduce the number of doors and walls, aiming to make the transition between the various environments more fluid and unified,” says Fernanda.
Scope of Work
In this sense, despite being few, the structural interventions were sufficient to completely transform the interior of the apartment. A pivoting glass and iron partition stands out. A kind of semi-transparent stained-glass window, designed by the architect to separate two areas of the dwelling. An inspired solution, with a certain retro feel, but one that managed to make the internal circulation more expressive and airy.

The room, for example, characterized by a wall entirely covered in wood, perfectly embodies this concept, accommodating, in addition to the art, only an essential selection of furniture: a comfortable Presidential armchair by Jorge Zalszupin, a composition of coffee tables designed by the firm itself, as well as the iconic Bottero armchairs, designed by Ronald Sasson.
